Ingredients:
One pkg of elbow pasta
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup all purpose flour (sifted)
2 tsp dry ground mustard,
1 1/2 tsp salt
5 cups milk
4 cups shredded cheddar
One pound of chopped bacon (optional but worth it)
Homemade Mac and Cheese
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Cook pasta according to the package instructions (if you don't know how to cook pasta... you really belong here)
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter and slowly add flour, mustard and salt.
Gradually stir in milk (use a whisk)
Cook and stir until everything thickens slightly and bubbles a little bit. Remove from heat.
Add 2 cups of the shredded cheese and stir until melted.
In a large bowl, mix the sauce with the pasta and pour/scoop into a greased (or spray Pam) baking dish.
Top with the remaining shredded cheddar and bake for 40 minutes or until its melted and starting to bubble.
